Google awards Android phones to CLARITY

As part of the AndroidEDU program, Google has awarded 10 Android phones to Prof Alan Smeaton in Dublin City University to allow work on CLARITY-related projects. These phones are already being used by students on taught Masters programs as part of their practicums, by PhD students within CLARITY, by students of the DCU Business school and by CLARITY researchers. All 10 projects that the phones are being used for have in common the fact that they are generating new interest in mobile engineering and developing novel applications which could not otherwise have been done just using the Android emulator. Later in the year, a report of all the activities for which the phones have been used, will be produced. Edmond Mitchell is pictured above with one of the new phones.
